Sgraffito
I have never heard of sgraffito in my life until I did this project. This was really fun to make. Even though this tested my patience, and make my hand tired, this came out better than I thought. I got many comments from my friends and family that it looked really cool and that they liked the color. I chipped the design so many times but it still came out looking good. The hardest part about this project was actually carving because I kept chipping the clay but it came out better than I thought. The easiest part was actually putting the color because it wasn't hard.
Clay Bowl
I love to work with clay which is why this project was fun. I got the construct and make a bowl however way I wanted to design it. I decided that I wanted to make the designs on the outside in case I want to fill the bowl with something. I wanted to make two different colors so that it looked a lot nicer than 1 color. I got many compliments from friends and family about the texture and color of the bowl. The hardest part about this was making the bowl's shape because it dried a bit the next day so I couldn't fix the height of the bowl or the width. The easiest part was stamping symbols and shapes.
Personal Logo
This was a fun project to me. I got to put whatever I want on it and make it creative as I want. Although I took too long in trying to finish it, I still like the end product even though I wanted to add a few more things to it. Most of what I wanted is there. I got a lot of compliments in my project throughout the process. They liked my creativity making the M for my middle name the MCU because I love Marvel. I think the hardest part in making this was building it. Painting it was just the fun part. My parents and friends liked it a lot which made me happy about it.
Foam Art
I really enjoyed making this. It was one of the very few projects that came easy to me. Even though I wanted to change the project half-way through, I think it still came out good. The only hard process was the painting because I tried making it look realistic. I really liked being able to shape the pumpkin pie how I want it to be. My family really liked it and I think it is a cool decoration piece for autumn when the time comes up.
Animal Sculpture
Making this was like a roller coaster. This dog is my dog, Rocky and he is the sweetest dog which is why I tried making a sculpture of him. For the longest time, I was so focused on trying to make the body like him but it just wasn't working and I didn't really know how to fix it. So, I just took a long time fixing it then re-doing it and then fixing it again. I just wish I did better on this. Some of my friends thought I looked so cute. I didn't really like this project because I couldn't make it good enough to look like my dog. The painting was also not well blended. Also, the tail broke off of it so it's just a mess. The next time I take an art class, I will make my dog look better than that.
Rocky
Raku Pot
I am very proud of this project. Throughout the whole year, I didn't like a lot of what I made, but this pot is my favorite. I really like the shape, handles, and the metallic colors. Even the process from taking the pots out from the fiery kilm to trash, to adding sawdust, and hosing down the trash cans. I lot of my friends and family told me they really liked my pot and my family is actually going to use it as a vase for flowers. Even though the process took a long time, i enjoyed the time building it, smoothing it, adding a design and glazing all the way till the very end. I did make little mistakes but it's not mistakes that ruined the look of the pot so it's all good.
Pottery art
For this project, it was my first time on the pottery wheel. It's a lot harder than it looks and needs a lot of practice, but thankfully in 3 days I was able to shape them into sort of what I want and what I like. The hardest part about this was centering the clay on the wheel and the easiest was glazing it. I am very proud of this pottery I made so did my friends and family.
