Our first project of the semester was our personal logo. We needed to make a logo that displays our initials and paint it in a way that shows who we are and what we like. The process of making the logo was fairly easy and enjoyed that. The longest step of the project was to soak the newspaper in glue and apply it to the logo. Even though it was a long process, I enjoyed it a lot. My favorite part of the project is the cow print on the inside. Overall, I am very happy with the project and I don't think I would change anything.
The second project of the semester was our foam project. We needed to pick an object to replicate and make out of foam and I chose an Expo dry erase marker. It was pretty tedious to shape the foam but I didn't want to rush it. It isn't as rounded as an actual Expo marker but from a few feet away it looks pretty good. Overall, I feel like I could have done a little better on it but it's still pretty decent.
This was a very quick project and it was fun to make. I used a floral stamp and a roller that created the lines on the center part of the bowl. While I was forming the actual bowl, a part of the clay broke off but it was easy to fix. Overall, I really liked this project and I am happy with the result.
Going into this project I was nervous about it but it turned out to be really fun. I was always excited to work on the pottery wheel. I did not learn how to center the clay on the wheel but I did get a lot better at shaping the thing that I was working on. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this project.
Making the vase was very long and tedious. I think that I took way to much time making the vase smooth at the end because I had not made sure it was smooth as I added coils to it. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed this project even though it took a long time to make.
