This project was quite interesting because prior to starting, I assumed I wasn't good at art but I am actually very happy with the finished product. At the start of this project, I was very intimidated by everything that I had to do, but I started with shading my shirt and I think that was a good choice. The clothes don't matter nearly as much as my face and it was a great spot to learn how best to shade things. I learned that it was important to be patient while adding the shading. It took a while to make sure the shading was good and matched with what was in my picture. Over the course of this project, I noticed that I learned what was the best technique and what wasn't. Overall, I am very happy with the finished product.
I enjoyed working on this project much more and much like the self portrait, I am very surprised by how happy I am with the finished product. I was excited going into this painting because the picture is really cool and I was interested in how I would make the difference of colors in the coffee look good. At first I thought that I should try to blend the colors but I quickly realized that it wasn't working and then I started placing the paint in patches and I was glad that it was working out. After this painting I learned that placing the paint straight on instead of trying to blend it in is probably more effective on adding character to the picture. Overall, after completing this painting I learned a lot more on how to create a good painting and I am glad with the finished product.
I really enjoyed making this project. I learned a lot about adding shading and how important every line can be. Even in the black areas, just by adding a few very light lines, it is clear that the fur in that area is the same as the lighter fur under it. At first, it was daunting that I wasn't able to erase any of the lines but it didn't seem like a problem after I started. Every line starts to flow very well together and I almost instantly got the hang of it. It's very interesting how each different line can be created to look like fur.
I had a lot of fun working on this project and am very happy with the result. At first, I was intimidated of doing water coloring because the last time I tried water color, I wasn't very successful but I definitely learned a lot more about it this time around. It was very important to add layers in order for the building to have the right amount of colors and shading. I think I added too much color at once for the bush and it became too dark and have the wrong color to it.
This project was probably my favorite from this year even though I enjoyed almost all of them. I liked seeing the colors blend together the most. There isn't much that I don't like about this art except for the inside of the car because I don't think the color together but everything else blended well. I like how the shine of the car looks as well as the tires. Overall, this project was really fun and enjoyable to work on and I'm happy with the finished product.
