I am excited to do this project and know that it'll make an impact on little kids in Honduras. I know it will be challenging, and I hope I can put together something great to send off. I want to work hard for this picture and help cheer up Luis as well as his friends and family.
I think the most important aspect of this project is helping bring joy to the kids in Cambodia and to reflect God's love for his children in our art. I think this is considered worship since we are being the hands and feet of Jesus and caring for his creation. I would consider myself successful if I make a portait that looks very similar to my kid and will bring a smile to her face.
I enjoyed getting to test out the different types of drawing we could pick for our portraits. I at first wanted to do a colorful one and not pencil, but after these three weeks, I ended up liking my pencil one the most. I am going to use pencil for my final version of the project, and I am going to be intentional with my shading.
I hope this child feels God’s love through art and sees how beautiful she is. I hope she feels seen and is filled with joy. If I could speak to her I would tell her that she was fearfully and wonderfully made by her Heavenly Father.
I thought this project turned out good and that pencil was the way to go. I think even though we had only 3 weeks, it kept me working at a consistenly fast pace. I really enjoyed how the final product looks and I was excited to send it off in the mail.
After watching the video of the kids recieving their portraits, I was filled with joy. It was so nice to see that the work we put into these projects had paid off. Seeing their smiles were priceless and it was so cool to see the older kids just as excited as the younger ones. I would love to do another project like this again. It is amazing to see how we changed the lives of these kids.
