Clay Bowl

For this project, we cut the shape out of the clay and made a fun design on it. Then we folded the sides up to connect them with slip. I added little feet to the bottom for fun and them I painted it a rustic yellow. I had some problems with folding it up, it broke in some places. But overall, I love how the bowl turned out!

Clay Plate

This project was so much fun!! And it turned out so good and pretty. I wouldn't change anything about this project. Next time, I think it would be fun to do a different print.

We started by putting a piece of clay on a plastic plate to mold it into the shape of a plate, and then we let it dry so we could safely take it off. After we took it off, we attached 4 little feet on the bottom and let those dry as well. I then added 3 layers of blue paint and let that set and dry so I could sketch the print and carve it out. After all my print was scraped away, I put a glaze over it that made it look all shiny after it was fired.

Personal

This project was really fun because I got to put all of my favorite things, or what represents me. Like the cross, I am 16, I love Friday night football games, art, and my friends and family for infinity.

Logo

The Christmas tree was so much fun to paint and for the sunset, it is a picture the was painted/glued on there. There were a lot of steps and some of them were hard to do with my project, but I overall loved it.

Clay Animal

For this project, I made a dog head out of clay. This project started off really rough and there was a lot of trust in the process. After we hallowed the inside, textured the outside and fired the clay animals, the final step was to paint. It was a little hard to paint it realistically, but I think it turned out pretty good. I am very happy with the end result.

Foam Cookie

This is not a real cookie. It is made out of foam and has real sprinkles on top. For this project, I did a lot of shaving down the foam to get the shape and then used a drill and an exacto knife for the frosting on top. I wouldn't change anything about this project, I think it turned out so good and I love it. I hope that I made it real enough that I can trick someone with it.

Pottery

For the project, we got 1 week to work on the wheel and create either bowls or mugs. I made 6 bowls, the mugs were a little hard to make, for me, so I stuck with what I was good at making. The wheel was so much fun and I can't wait to be able to be on it again. I love the bowls and I think the turned out so cute!!!

Wheel

It is obviously a little difficult, but once you get going, it gets way easier and more fun. After we made them, we let them sit and dry and then trimmed them on the trimming wheel. That was so much fun and relaxing to do. After that, they were fired and then we were able to glaze them and fire them again.

Big Clay Pot

This pot turned out to be good and as soon as it was taken home, flowers were put right into it. It looks so pretty and although there were some difficulties, like having to start over, the project was fun. We made the pot out of clay, fired it, put glaze on it but not in the cracks, then fired again. This round of firing, we took it straight out of the keln and put sawdust on it which made it set on fire. We let it sit like that for about 10 minutes and then dumped it in water. There was a layer of dust, dirt and residue from the fire that I had to scrape off and then the pot was done.

Lamp

This project was so much fun and turned out so cute!! it was a little hard to get the hang of and try to manipulate the reeds for enough time to glue them. After they were hot glued, we just had to glue parchment paper on there, let it dry and then add a layer of hardening liquid to the front and back. Once that was dry, you could cut off the extra paper and then once all the pieces were like that, you hot glue them all together. I decided to have it resting on a stick and then strung my lights through the stir inside.
