This is my Textured Lantern. First I made the shape of the lantern out of clay. After this I took some texturing tools and created a texture that I liked on its surface. I also poked holes in the lantern so i can add lights on the inside later. After this my lantern was fired and was able to be painted. I painted the lantern a blackish blue. After it was fired again it was finally finished.
For this plate I used clay on top of a plastic plate to get the shape. After this my plate was fired. Once fired I painted on two layers of blue paint and then let it dry a little bit. I then took a stencil and scratched an outline of my design. After the paint fully dried I scratched out the inside of all the outlines to get my final design. I then put the clear finish on and fired it again.
These are all the cups and bowls I spun on the wheel during my week. I enjoyed spinning most of the time. It was pretty frustrating when my project would get ruined though I lost a few cool looking pieces. I painted all my bowls and cups the same color so they all match. I plan on giving them all to my mom.
For my clay Animal I made a Hippo. Hippos are one of my favorite animals. They are also my dad's favorite animal so it is a win win. I really enjoyed making it and have been looking forward to this project since intro to art. I painted it grey and made the top of the back light grey. Over all my favorite art project that I have done in art class.
I made a Dr. Squatch fresh fall bar of soap for my foam project. I made this because I have used this soap before and I thought it had a cool color I could try to replicate. I cut a square on the band saw and painted it blue like the bar is in person.
I didn't really want to make a lamp so I asked langmack if I could make a plane thing and he said yes. I enjoyed making it and i plan on hanging it on my wall. I based it off of Leonardo Divinci's plane that he designed.
I made a large Clay pot and put waves on the bottom. I enjoyed making it and carving the waves into it. This project is the main reason I chose to do 3D art and im glad with how it turned out. When it came out of the oven the process of burning the wood chips and smoking it was really fun and made it look a lot cooler than I expected it to be.
