3D Art

Clay Bowl

Making this bowl was interesting. It was my first project in 3D art and it was really fun to do. I learned that I liked clay and found it relaxing. I liked all the fun stamps too. I definitely have areas I could improve on like not putting the glaze so thick and making it look cleaner but overall I like the way it turned out. It's one of those things where you just have to force yourself to like it and be happy with it and just tell yourself you can do better next time. It was a good first project.

Plate

I enjoyed this project a lot. My favorite part was carving out the design. I love how the color turned out and Iḿ very happy with it.

Personal Logo

I chose to put Cayucos on the front because we have a house there and go a lot so it means a lot to me. I put cheer on the front too because I do cheer. I put my favorite albums on the side. I put my favorite verse and favorite flower (hibiscus) on the other side.  I didn´t love this project but it wasn´t terrible.

Clay Animal

I decided to make my dog Moose out of clay. I don't like Moose that much but my parents do so I wanted to make it for my parents because I knew that they would enjoy it. Moose gets on my nerves but I thought I would get past it and make a sculpture of him as like a peace offering.  The painting got frustrating because of his color but I enjoyed everything else.

Foam Carving

I carved an orange out of foam. I originally wanted to do a whole orange but it didn't work out with the width, but I'm glad that I chose to challenge myself and do half of the orange. The inside was actually fun to paint. I enjoyed this project and thought it was a unique idea. I learned about this type of orange which is a cara cara and learned that they look cool because they are slightly pink on the inside.

Raku Vase

This is my Raku Vase. I found it challenging working with the coils but I'm happy with how it turned out. The copper glaze isn't very shiny, but I'm okay with it. I like how the white crackle glaze turned out.

Pottery Wheel

I found the pottery wheel fun. I like working with it and I loved how the glaze colors turned out. I don't love my mug, but it was also the first thing I made. I like my bowls a lot. Overall this was a great project and I'm excited to work on the wheel again.
