The VMAs begin with the red carpet to see what everyone is wearing. Some notable outfits included Taylor Swift’s plaid Dior dress and Sabrina Carpenter’s vintage look. Following this event is the exciting part of the evening: the awards! In between exciting performances from the artists, Moon Person trophies were given to Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, SZA, Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, and various other artists. Taylor Swift broke the record with seven awards this year. The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, a lifetime achievement, was awarded to Katy Perry.
First broadcast in 1984, the MTV VMAs remain an extremely popular event that draws A-list music celebrities to an event geared towards young people.
