Wrestling.
Many things come to mind at first thought. It's violent, it's dangerous, it's gross. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Despite its reputation, wrestling truly is a sport for everybody, no matter who you are or what you believe you are capable of. Wrestling, specifically women’s wrestling, is statistically proven to be one of the fastest-growing sports in New York state. There’s no reason to not be part of something new, and contribute to the growth of an incredible sport.
The Clarence High School wrestling team is open to everyone, and without tryouts or cuts, there’s no anxiety about whether you will make the team or not. Even if you have never stepped foot on a wrestling mat in your life, you can still wrestle. In fact, people who have no wrestling experience are encouraged to join the team. It’s true when people say that wrestling is a sport for everybody. Our team features a kind and nurturing environment full of opportunity and encouragement, as well as amazing coaches who will help you to be your best self. Still not convinced? Wrestling is the type of sport that leaves you in the best shape of your life, and if that won’t influence you to try it, then nothing will.
