At the American International School Model UN, January 2019
I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am fluent in English and Vietnamese, with a knowledge of conversational French.
As of June 2019, I am currently a Grade 10 student in the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) program at the Canadian International School Vietnam. I have been a part of the CIS community since 2015. Prior to that, I was a student in the Vietnamese public school system for six years.
Academically speaking, I am an arts-oriented student; I am passionate about the humanities (literature, history, geography, philosophy, e.t.c...), as well as theatrical arts. To me, the arts is a way for society to connect and share their beliefs and thoughts in a creative and emotionally fulfilling fashion.
As much as the world needs logic and reason in order to define and explain how it works, we need the arts to comfort and beautify it. I am interested in the sciences too, but I am not that much of a logical thinker, to be frank.
In the future, I plan to attend university in North America or in Europe, and pursue a career in creative writing or theater overseas.
