There's no denying that for the most part, games are fun. Their whole intent is to give you fun; as Extra Credits' Dan put it, "Games are like an engine where you put "work" in and you get fun out."
I believe that gamifying education, or bringing games to education of some sort, can both increase students' grasp on the material they need to learn and also increase their interest in the subject altogether. In addition, many games build the four core twenty-first century skills.
