He was born in Rome on October 31, 1960. He graduated cum laude in Electronic Engineering at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome in 1986 and in 1991 he obtained the title of Phd in Applied Electromagnetism and Electrophysical Sciences. Since 1986 he carries out his research at the Department of Electronic Engineering, where he was a researcher from 1990 to 1998, substitute Professor of Electromagnetic Fields II from 1994 to 1998, associate Professor of Electromagnetic Fields from 1998 to 2004 and full professor of Electromagnetic Fields since 2005. His research activities included guiding structures, antennas and microwave resonators and millimeter waves, numerical methods, scattering, optical propagation, heating of plasmas and anisotropic media. He is Senior Member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and Member of Sigma Xi.
