On Friday 24 May at 10:00, in the reading room of the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, the seminar entitled:"Aquaphotomics: Water Mirror Approach in Science". Aquaphotomics is the name of a new scientific discipline that uses the water-light interaction (aqua-photo) for qualitative and quantitative analyzes of aqueous solutions with the aim of obtaining a synthesis and systematization of knowledge (-omics) on the structure relationship- function of water. The water absorption pattern records the structure and dynamics of each aqueous system present in it through changes to its supra-molecular structure. Aquaphotomics, through spectroscopic measurements, records the changes induced by solutes in the aqueous matrix and is based on an innovative approach in data analysis to obtain rapid recognition patterns of different samples. The technique will be presented through examples of applications in various fields: from the detection of solutes at very low concentrations, previously not measurable, to applications to diagnostics. Examples of controlling and monitoring the quality of water and food will also be presented. The speaker will be Professor Roumiana Tsenkova of the Bio measurement Laboratory of Kobe University, Japan.

On Thursday 21 March at 3.30 pm, at the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Engineering of the Latina branch, the conference "The mysteries of water" will be held, as part of the cycle of conferences "Visions of the future", organized by Sapienza with its structures present in the Polo di Latina, together with the Roffredo Caetani Foundation onlus and the Society of Territorialists / and onlus. The theme will be that of the structure of liquid water, still widely debated, although it is the most common of the substances at the basis of the mechanisms that give rise to and sustain life. The most surprising implications are those related to understanding the fundamental mechanisms underlying biology. Antonella De Ninno, head of the Bioelectromagnetics laboratory of the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (Enea) in Frascati, will give a talk entitled "Water: the importance of its structure for understanding life on the our planet ". A round table will follow which will be attended by Francesco Cioffi and Paolo De Girolamo from the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering, Marella Maroder from the Department of Molecular Medicine and Valerio Parisi from the Physics Department of Sapienza.
