One person who helped Women's Rights across settings is Harriot Stanton Blatch. She advocated for labor reforms (efforts made to improve working conditions, wages, and rights of workers). Another person who helped was Malala Yousafzai. She works for a fair education so that not just males get to learn. Speaking of people who helped schools, Patsy Mink helped pass a bill giving females in schools rights in school. Lastly, Gabby Douglas donated $5000 to the WSF to help other athletes reach their goal.
The pay in jobs in the past wasn't like what it is today. For example in the 1960's, women would work full-time but only earn about 60 cents to every dollar a man would earn! In 2024 women earn about 84 cents to a dollar a man earns, but luckily, in most places, it is now illegal to offer unequal pay for two different co-workers for equal work. But jobs aren't the only way to get money, you could get prize money from sports. For example, male athletes who play basketball, golf, soccer, or baseball, make up to 15% to even nearly 100% more prize money than female athletes (2023).
In college sports most of the time the men's team has the better hotel even though they shouldn't be any different. Another interesting fact you may want to know is that transgender boys are not excluded from the boy's sports team but transgender girls are excluded from the girl's sports team sometimes. You should know that women can do anything a man can!
Quotes from activists about Women's Rights across settings; "I am a feminist and we should all be feminists because feminism is another word for equality" - Malala Yousafzai.
"Never quit, never give up when you have a little trouble here and there, just keep fighting. In the end, it will pay off" - Gabby Douglas.
"I'm not saying woman are better. I've never said that. I'm just saying we deserve some respect" - Billie Jean King.
