Allow me to introduce my CT (Coordinator Teacher) ~... Sir Harry and Ma'am Leah.
They are not just teaching figures but also parents and friends throughout my time at Lazaro Francisco. Sir Harry teaches in grades 9 and 10, while Ma'am Leah teaches in grades 7 and 8. During my time at Lazaro, I was given the opportunity to teach directly in classes 7 and 9, covering biology and chemistry.
and... Thanks to Sir Harry's guidance, I gained experience in teaching chemistry (an adventurous experience but very memorable).
Btw, I have two CT (coordination teacher) because my initial mentor - Sir Harry - taught subjects like chemistry and physics, whereas my specialization is in biology. Consequently, I was transferred to the guidance of another mentor, Ma'am Leah.
and I love them <3
Teaching Methods
Ma'am Leah and Sir Harry employ the student-centered teaching method in the classroom, but each has their own characteristics in teaching and are both equally great. Ma'am Leah more often invites students to think by asking short questions that make students think more deeply. On the other hand, Sir Harry leans towards fostering the development and enhancement of various skills, especially teamwork skills, through project assignments.
My two mentors have different reference sources. Sir Harry primarily uses reference books from the Department of Education Philippines, as seen in the picture beside. On the other hand, Ma'am Leah is more flexible, she uses various books and websites to compile teaching materials.
For students, their main references come from PowerPoint presentations provided by the teachers because around 2019, there was a fire at the school, resulting in all the books being burned.
