Pedagogical Contents of Chemistry Lesson
From my observations, the teaching method primarily employed in the classes is teacher-centered approach during the lessons. This choice is understandable, given the extensive content that required explanation. It's mainly delivered the material by presenting at the front of the class, effectively utilizing the advanced technological tools available at the school. To ensure her students comprehended the material, it's consistently conducted a question-and-answer session or an activity by answering questions at the end of each lesson.
The learning materials utilized in the classroom are diverse. They include a slideable whiteboard with colored markers, a smart TV for presenting PowerPoint slides, instructional videos, images, and a textbook.
The learning resources for chemistry or for science in general include a General Science textbook and the internet resources. The teacher prepares a PowerPoint presentation a day in advance, along with a printed lab activity sheet.
The presentation is straightforward, featuring images, tables, and key points from the material. The PowerPoint is displayed on a Smart TV in the classroom, while the lab activity sheets are printed and distributed to students.
For assessment, what is usually done is using a paper basis, where students are asked to write their answers on a piece of paper, then the paper will be collected and assessed by the teacher.
