All oral events and some written events will have an exam component. This exam is 100 questions multiple choice and takes about an hour to do. Each cluster will have its own exam. For example, marketing events will write a different exam from finance events.
DECA exams are the ultimate test of your business knowledge and can make or break your success in competition.
Practice, practice, practice. The more exams you do, the better score you will get. There's no magic formula for success on the exam other than rote practice, so take some time every week to do exam questions from your cluster.
Don't just do, review. Go through all the questions you got wrong, read the explanations, and make sure you understand the concepts afterwards. If there are any questions you are unsure of while doing the exam, put a star next to them so you can go back and review them even if you end up getting the correct answer. Compile all the questions you get wrong into one master exam to really test your understanding of concepts!
Regular multiple choice tips apply. Apply the strategies you would use on a school multiple choice test: eliminate all wrong answers, use logic, and when in doubt, just guess.
Performance indicators can help. PI's are not just helpful for roleplays. Studying your PI's ensures you have all the necessary business knowledge to succeed on the exam.
Make it fun. Flashcards, Kahoot, and exam trivia competitions with friends are all ways to make studying DECA exams more fun.
