distillery DISTRICT

The Distillery District used to be a wheat mill 🌾and was run by James Worts and William Gooderham, and after Worts died, Gooderham carried on with the business. Later on in the years, he added a distillery for making whiskey 🥃 and a dairy addition 🧀. Gooderham was thriving, and in 1871, it was the largest distillery in the world. Later on in the years though, business was going down, and they had to sell the distillery to Harry C. Hatch, and in 1990, they finally closed the distillery. It is now one of Canada's top tourist attractions, and a pedestrian-only village.
