The C.N. tower

The C.N. Tower is Canada's most recognized icon and well known internationally as an architectural triumph of the modern world. It took over 3 years to construct and was unveiled on the 26th of June, 1976. While some other engineering marvels have been constructed around the world purely to see if it can be done, the CN Tower solved a practical problem. There were big communication hurdles for people in Toronto due to small buildings with radio and TV antennae getting their signals blocked by new taller skyscrapers. With its microwave receptors over 1000 feet and its antennae at 1815 feet, Torontonians now enjoy the clearest reception in North America and great views from its most loved tourist attraction.
