Unit 1 Birds + sculptureÂ
These two sketches are from the online learning, one of it is the crane which is kind of hard to sketch because the structure of it body. The other one is a lizard which have a lot of detail but I overcome it by adding fine line pen to thicken the line.
This bird is made dedicated to my and it wasn't easy to make, but it also wasn't that hard since it kinda have a round shape body so it was easy, but the side wings was slightly hard.
These are all the process of making the bird, the buttom one is the most recent bird which I have already colore in it. Its not that hard to paint on since I try to make the paint blend and look like a feathers. The obstacle in the process is sometime its not the right color and so i have to try and blend them. Althought uts nit the correct color but it make it look more like realistic feathers.
First I cut out a card board as the shape of the bird we want.
Next I paper mache my bird over the cardboard and tape.
Lastly I just try and blend the colors together and add some feathers texture to make it look realistuc as possible.
Looking Ahead Competition
These are the post it that I have done to have an idea of what we might do for the artwork. It's also link to Looking ahead.
Artwork Process
This is the sketch and the outline of my looking ahead drawing.
The media that have used is the school paint and fine line to make some part stand out.
In here you can see that I started to color in one of the binocular.
I have put in color for everywhere background and use color pencil to add some shades.
Final Artwork
My artwork is about a this anonymous person looking through a binoculars to see the future. But when you actually see through it, both sides doesn't have the same view of the future. The left side is like the future that everyone planned to be, where it's really rich in technology and there's no pollution. On the other hand, the right side you can see that's there's a volcano eruption. (Volcano is like the symbol of destruction and falling apart)
Year 8- Term 2 Portraiture
Lesson 1- Charcoal & Chalk Skill Developement
Charcoal Portrait
Stage 1: Using the grid to transfer the image.
First we took a photo of ourself by using tripod and flashes to create the shadow in the image and try out different angle and effect. From the images we took, we then place the grid on our paper and ipad, to be able to use the grid method in able to detail the drawing. While doing this method i've used a HB pencil to draw and outline my facial features. The difficult part in the process was that the grid kept moving so i weren't able to put some features or detail in it specific place.
Portrait Drawing Evaluation
Stage 2: Shading
Before I did the shading on my potrait, we've been able to practice by using different method and sources of shading. In this case though I've found it very easy to use EE pencil to shade in small black point, so I decided to use this capability on my portrait.
For my face there's a contrast in the middle since it's a split between the shadow and light, having this I decided to create a dark point going through the middle of my face and using the blending tool to blend after, making it look as realistic and a like as the image. Through the process I've notices that there's many dark and light point so I have also try to use different pencil such as 2b, 4b and 6b.
I have also used value scale to see different shades and for the hair, I've tried to detail it as much as I can by having a dark, light point and hair lines.
Stage 3: Checking, editing and background
I scanned through my potrait seeing my mistake where my nose wasn't in line with mouth, so I decided to rub it and redraw it, after I put shadow and started blending it so the rub out part wasn't visible. Other than that everything was all in its place.
Evaluation
My biggest challenge for me was shading in since some spot in the face was a black value but when we look closely we can still see the facial features through the black shadow.Â
Although there's some challenges, there's also a good part of my portrait which was the shadow going down my face to show the contrasting point between the shadow and the light.
Succulents in Chalk Pastel
This is during the process of chalking the color of the flower and creating the petals of the flower. I also added the shadow in between each petals to make it look more realistic.
This is the final result which i have added some light higlights into the bigger petals, after i finish I also have to sprayed it with fixtive to ensure that the chalk won't smudge together.
Unit 3: Abstract Painting
Lesson 1- Abstract Challenges

Painting of the photo
For this canvas, I have worked with Sydney to paint the base, outline and detail.
Through out the process I have put in more detail and improvise some part of the painting. When i have finish everything, I have also spray 'acrylic lacquer spray' to make it have a shiny effect.
Final artwork
Learner profile that have been used
I've chose thinker because while making the painting, we both have to think through on how to make the color as close to the reference as possible.
We are reflective because, me and Sydney fixed the marker line that might have not been in shape. As well as improvising other parts that look like can be added.
In the process me and Sydney have shared ideas from the start and have combined our ideas together. To make the final piece of artwork.
