A key part of the Uni Connect Programme is to measure the impact of outreach activities by how many Uni Connect students progress to higher education. As part of this, we ask students to complete a consent form (known as HEAT Consent Form) to track their education journey through the project and beyond, until they turn 26 years of age. We will be using the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) to monitor and assess the impact of the Southern Universities Network (SUN) programme.
A student’s decision not to complete a HEAT Consent Form, or not give consent to be tracked, will have no impact on their ability participate in the SUN programme, nor restrict the activities and events they are offered as part of the programme.
The SUN evaluation plan, including the HEAT Consent Form, has been given ethical approval by the University of Southampton ethics committee. There is a detailed data privacy notice that outlines the reasons why we collect personal data and how it is used – you can find this here https://www.sunoutreach.org/privacy-policy/
