In my FMP i have decided that I will make a parody of a specific Film 'Breaking Bad', this is my Inspirational Research, the story of 2 people leaving the ordinary life of a student and a teacher to Cook their own product and make a massive profit. In the week of filming we went out to film 3 times during the week, it gave us enough time to produce enough footage for us to be happy while editing. Our Brainstorms helped us out with the ideas for this FMP, the product that we will use to make this Project PG-13. This Short Film has no dangerous acts which should not make anyone feel worried about the actors. Breaking Bad is about a Highschool Student and Highschool Chemistry teacher, the teacher was diagnosed with cancer, and as he doesnt have long to live he decides to make Meth with the student and create their little business. Our FMP is very similar BUT we will not be using any drugs, we will adapt the FMP to be drug free. The equipment we will use is a Sony ZV-E10, we will also use a tripod, the location we will use is Colwick lake, a kitchen and possibly a forest. The target audience will be people from 18-55, which is Mature audience as people say. The potential problem that we could have is the weather, the actors shouldn't be a problem so we should have no problem.
The thing that we found that was really helpful in this project is the Show itself, I had some friends that watched the show and knew all the characters pretty well, so all the clothing was not a problem to get. The Voices were also something that was a bit harder as it isnt easy copying someones voice but we managed in the end. We didnt have anything that wasnt helpful all of the stuff we found out, well we already knew was all we needed in this Short Film. The Research that we did was trying to find out how Breaking Bad Film thier Scenes, whats shots they use, and how they editing all of their clips and sorts. I realised that in some clips when they are cooking their product they cut thier clips a lot and make the scene shorter, which also looks so much better. Also in Breaking Bad thier is a bit of humour, for example Jesse is more of a childish character, and Walter is way more mature, this pair make a amazing duo, which I think makes the series very enjoyable to watch. This research was very useful as we were then able to create a very good piece of work to very good conditions. The research gave us a lot clips that we could have just recreated with a bit of a twist and make us adapt. I have made some clips decently similar to the Series Breaking Bad which turned out very good, of course our idea is still the main Idea so we havent just straight up copied Breaking Bad.
The audience is for everyone but I would say its more PG-13 as we do have some swearing. as for the actual Series Breaking Bad, their audeince is for more mature people but as it is a very good show people in the younger category also watch this series, so I think that we made our pretty much perftect for it to be a PG-13. We dont have much swearing and we also have a bit of humour towards the end of the Project. I think this is very important to note down as some people would not find the swearing appriopriate, especially if children under 13 were watching it, Having no drugs in the Project makes the Audience range a bit wider, from 13- 65. This range is perfect, as almost everyone can watch it.
The way I managed to produce my work is by gather all of the research and starting from begging, I do not like doing the skeleton method, so I choose to ignore it and create my project a piece at a time, I really like editing so I like doing it my way. While using both Softwares, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects, these two softwares helped me create my texts, my intros and my credits. The two of those softwares are great I love using Premier Pro and After Effects. I am not as used to after effects as Premier Pro but I try to work things out, for example with this project. I had to play around with the intro so that It fits the theme of the Project. I tried to make the intro bactria like, or some sort of reaction which matches the theme of this FMP. Premier Pro is very trust worthy software, but sometimes it can get very difficult using them. For me the footage would never render in so I dont have the clearist video, which I apologise as I love when my Projects are High Quality. I had to restart 3 times as the edit would not save on my One Drive but we got to finish it in the very end and I am very happy. We experimented with a lot of shots, the area we would film in, and I think that we did a good job finding these location, it made it 100x easier having a friend that drives a car so getting to places on time wasnt a problem. The pre-production was kind of helpful, it helped us get our story line to be clear and we didnt have to look back at this Plan. I think that this was a project that definatly opened my mind to editng being able to create my own piece with some limits. It is very helpful as it doesnt stress your mind too much and you can think of anything and I have never tried of recreating a parody of a specific Series. So this being the first time, I think it opened up a different perspective to editing and just film itself. But I can definatly do better in editng, I just need to put some practice into editing and I think it will be top class.
I am really happy how the project came out so I am hoping everyone else will also like this Project that I created. I hope some people can look at this work and kind of look up to it, I could have definatly do way better than this but I think it has to be a very perfect category so I can edit. In this project we didnt have any problems which I like, everything went with the plan and very smooth, this helped us focus more on the filming than figdeting and trying to work out solutions to some kind of problems. If I had to do this project again I would probably get more props, which would open up way more scenes for us. Also some of the limits that we had for example the drugs and the weapons. I think that some movies really need these type of props, but I see why these limits are set, so that we can be more creative and think outside the box and find thing that others wouldnt. With the schedule I think we were quite right on our timing, so there is much of a problem of that. I think that 1 week of filming is a bit too little, 2-3 weeks of filming would be perfect and also we could be able to make a 10min FMP instead of 4min, which in my opinion is a bit too short for a FMP. But I do think we did a good amount in a week. I think that the Final Piece has been set to good standards, and I am hoping that others see that too, there is something we could have improved like the voicing but I am not a proffesional so it wont be perfect.
I havent gotten any feedback yet...
