Lesson Overview

The purpose of this lesson is to instruct students how to safely run their combat robots for the first time. Students will learn: 

• Safe robot testing practices

• How to program specific aspects of their controllers

• How to charge their LiPo batteries

Required Kit Supplies

• Assembled combat robot

• FlySky controller

• LiPo battery charger and XT30 connector cable

Additional Required Supplies 

• Box, books, wood, test box, plexiglass, similar safeguard measure

• Safety glasses

• Test Chamber/Space: A safe location and space to test the driving and weapon capabilities of high energy (like combat robots).

• Firmware: The code on an isolated device without a full computer attached. The controller and receiver both have pre-programmed firmware.
