Dirk Fowler Style Study
This design came from a style study done on traditional graphic design artist Dirk Fowler. As he refuses to design digitally, I used the phrase "There is no command Z" to represent his impressive stylistic choice to hand print all of his designs.
Milton Glaser Style Study
This design was done in commemoration of Milton Glaser, a famous American graphic designer well known for his "I Heart New York" logo. While studying his style, I wanted to create a tribute to him through design, while also exemplifying many aspects of his style such as the abstract background behind him.
Saul Bass Style Study
This movie credit design was inspired by Saul Bass, a graphic designer that was well known for his innovative movie credit sequences. This assignment gave me the ability to create a movie credit design. I chose to do 47 Meters Down because I enjoyed the movie and it gave me a lot to work with in terms of resources and graphics.
Butterfly Mural
I digitally designed this mural concept in April of 2021 during Graphic Design I, my sophomore year. I created this with the intention of highlighting the idea of personal growth and the stages of life. I wanted it to be an inspiring mural, using vibrant colors to convey positive thinking. I have always advocated the importance of mental health, and I wanted to implement it as a message for this design project. Above is my mural sketch; when designing, I like to have a color palette so I know the total amount of colors used for different projects and that they are easily accessible as I work.
Meaningful Poster Project
This design came from an assignment I had in Graphic Design I. The objective was to create a poster over a hot topic and convey a message more through visuals and graphics rather than words. I wanted to make a poster highlighting the issues with the climate crisis and the desperate need to find a solution to this global issue.
Fantasy Prom Flyer Class for the Class of 2023
I was given the opportunity to design the information flyer for "Fantasy Prom". I really enjoyed this project as I have always loved reading fantasy books. I liked how this turned out and was grateful to be able to design something for the 2023 senior class.
AV Principles of Tech and Design Team Logo
In Graphic Design II, we were tasked with creating a logo or bracket containing the freshman group's mascot, color scheme, and phrases. They wanted us to replicate the style of the logos used in Harry Potter to divide the different houses. I created this design after I was given the following instructions.
Mascot: Dragon Colors: Purple and Gold
Qualities Valued: Honor, Respect, Creativity
Pop Music Magazine
I was given the assignment in Graphic Design I during my sophomore year of high school. We were supposed to create a realistic magazine covering a new story. At the time, Conan Gray, my favorite musician, decided to go on tour. Doing this assignment, I studied various publishers and their styles to produce the most realistic work I could. This assignment not only branched my professional visual design skills, but also gave me a better understanding of Adobe InDesign.
COOKBOOK DESIGN
One of our biggest projects in Graphic Design II was to design cookbook pages for a collaborative class cookbook. I designed a cover, back cover, divider page, and table of contents. I enjoyed this assignment as it required a theme/color scheme so that the designs match.
Business Design Package
In Principles of Av Tech and Design we were tasked to find a small local business and find the important aspects of their business such as the target audience, product, and marketing. I chose Beehive, a small business in Fort Worth, Texas. I decided to rebrand their business going off the theme of their title. We were instructed to make a business package consisting of a logo, business card, letter, and cover letter. Through the production of a business package, I was able to broaden my design abilities and practice professional work.
NISD Login Portal Page
I designed a seasonal login page in December of 2022 for NISD. My design was visible to all Northwest ISD students when they logged into their portal
Comic Book/ Graphic Design I/ 2022
Comic Book Design
In Graphic Design I I was given an assignment to create a comic book. This required lots of storyboarding, sketching and drawing. We learned how to create character and story boards which assisted us when writing out comics. This forced me to create designs and stick with them throughout the whole process. I really enjoyed this Art/Design project as it broadened my abilities and gave me a better understanding of visuals and digital illustration.
