"Burning Star" acrylic painting 2023 Visual Arts Scholastic Event

This is a painting of mine I completed in 2023, titled "burning star". It was meant to epitomize the teenage dilemma of determining their future and willingness to pursue a higher level of education beyond high school. This painting was created on a 16x20 canvas with acrylic paint. I started the painting by painting a blue base to match the color scheme I was going for. I then worked with my lightest colors first working my way to the darker colors that shaded and defined my piece. I added as I went, making my message more definitive as I finished my piece.

I ended up getting a four on this piece and will be traveling to San Marcos, Texas to compete at the state level in April of 2023.
