Composting is a process in which organic matter such as food waste is broken down and decomposed by bacteria or decomposing organisms (such as worms).
The decomposed matter is called compost, a valuable fertilizer which is rich in nutrients and can be used to enrich soil and plants.
1. Add a layer of healthy garden soil as the base.
2. Add the compost mix - Greens (food waste) & Browns (dried leaves, twigs) in layers.
3. Cover your compost and rotate your pile with a spade weekly - this helps to aerate the pile.
4. Add water if necessary - keep pile moist but it should not be sloppy.
5. Compost will be ready after 2-4 months! It will be dark brown/black and will have an earthy smell.
If you want to simplify and fasten your composting process,
check out our Fertizo products - Compost Bin and Liquid Microbes!
Unlike traditional composting where only greens can be used in composting, you can compost meats, poultry and dairy with our liquid microbe spray!
