The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) is a federally sponsored high school program that educates and trains students in leadership, followership, study skills, and physical mentality. This program is currently spread throughout the United States in hundreds of high schools nationwide. The NJROTC program and its cadets help benefit the school, the community, and most importantly, themselves.

To instill the values of good citizenship in cadets, and for every cadet to develop leadership potential, achieve a sense of accomplishment, and be mentally and physically prepared for life’s post-secondary opportunities by developing their character, self-discipline, knowledge and confidence.
To be an organization of selfless and professional cadets and instructors who embrace excellence as a standard, who possess leadership traits and practice established leadership principles to motivate and support each other and accomplish missions.
Unit Goal: Improve in Academics
Objective 1.1: All cadets complete 100 percent of academic homework
Objective 1.2: All Academic and Brain Brawl Team Members study an average of 1-2 hours every day to improve knowledge for promotions, test taking, competitions and inspections.
Objective 1.3: Before the last field meet and last Brain Brawl, all Academic Team and Brain Brawl members will review the entire series of PowerPoints and exams selected by the Academic Team Commander and Naval Science Instructors and strive for 75% or higher on practice examinations.
Objective 1.4: Qualify for the Brain Brawl Championship (“Super Brawl”).
Objective 1.5: By the final field meet to score 70% or above as a team average on actual or practice field meet exams.
Individual Goal: Improve in Physical Training
Objective 2.1: All cadets work out for 1-2 hours, at least 3 times a week, especially in areas of physical fitness you find difficult in order to improve in those areas and your overall health.
Objective 2.2: All cadets score an overall passing score on the Cadet Fitness Challenge
Team Goal: Train as a team and minimize absences for team practices.
Objective 3.1: Every team member is present during practices, so that the team as a whole may improve in all areas, and so that teamwork is improved. Competitors must take the practices seriously. Absences for bona fide reasons are communicated as soon as feasible, before practice.
Objective 3.2: Competitors are using practice time effectively by keeping focused with tasks that will require their full attention. A plan for each practice must be produced by each team commander and approved by the Unit Commander or person designated by the Unit Commander.
Objective 3.3: Have the teams practice as much a possible and ensure that they perfect every aspect of their performances, so that we can achieve 5th place or higher, and to qualify for Superbowl earlier on in the competition season. Team Captains must become experts at teaching and training their area of responsibility.
Unit Goal: Accumulate as many points as necessary for the End of Year Report (EOY) to attain Distinguished Unit.
Objective 4.1: Each week, staff work to attain the highest amount of points by monitoring and updating each section, planning events, collecting data, and motivating all cadets to support areas that need attention.
Objective 4.2: Qualify for the Area Eleven Championship Field Meet (“Superbowl.”)
Objective 4.3: Establish a CyberPatriot Team and compete during the current season.
Objective 4.4: Air Rifle Team qualify for the Area Eleven Championship by shooting a 1950 or above as a team.
Objective 4.5: At least 5 students submit Service Academy, ROTC or Alternative Scholarship Program applications by the first semester of their Senior year, with at least one being selected.
Objective 4.6: Every student will earn the unit participation, unit service, community service, and be on a team, staff, or class leadership position
Staff Goal: Be above average in overall school academics and physical fitness to be inspirational and positive role models that encourage other cadets to push themselves to be able to perform like you.
Objective 5.1: All staff pass the Cadet Fitness Challenge with satisfactory or better standards overall.
Objective 5.2: All staff make the Honor Roll each grading period with a “B” or higher in all classes.
Objective 5.3: Staff have zero unexcused absences and zero tardiness due to carelessness each grading period.
Objective 5.4: Staff study and do PT at home, so that the other cadets can see knowledgeable and skilled staff leading by example and be awed and inspired.
Objective 5.5: All staff learn Armed Regulation and Honor Guard. Learn and master the basics of these areas of drill, by practicing at school and home, so that you can set the standard of how it should be executed.
Objective 5.6: All staff dress and maintain grooming standards on uniform day and dress for PT 100% of the time, unless previously excused by the instructors.
Unit Goal: Increase Community Service that is Environment and or People Oriented.
Objective 6.1: At least once monthly have 20 cadets participate in beach clean-ups, or any other events that will help our community.
Objective 6.2: At least once each quarter have at least 20 cadets participate in a people-oriented community service.
Objective 6.3: Each semester, have 100 percent of cadets participate in 5 hours of environment and or people-oriented community service.
Unit Goal: Make NJROTC a desirable class, the largest club on campus, and increase the size of the unit from a minimum of company size (100 students) to a battalion (150 or more cadets).
Objective 7.1: Each cadet recruit one or more new students to enroll in NJROTC before October 1 (first semester) and will earn the Unit service ribbon. A second recruit will earn the Recruiting ribbon.
Objective 7.2: Make promotion more predictable by instituting a promotion system during the first semester.
Objective 7.3: During first semester, put in place a smooth system to ensure cadets are given awards within 1 week of earning, to be awarded on or before the next uniform day.
