My name is Genesis, I am fourteen years old and I live in North Carolina. My school requires that we do a service project to graduate 8th grade and middle school. I chose Fentanyl Awareness as the subject for my project. This wasn't my first choice, I didn't even have fentanyl awareness on my spectrum until I lost one of the greatest people in my life..  my stepdad, Chris. He was unmatched in his humor, and made our house more than a home. Not having a great relationship with my own dad, Chris stepped up to the plate and became that man. People who didn't know that he wasn't my biological dad even thought we looked so much alike.

Last time my family went to the beach, he even saved me from drowning. He is just another name on this board to you, but to me, he is my friend, my dad, my hero, and I will forever be grateful. He will be forever missed in such a huge way. His death left a hul,

-The legacy that is forever engraved in my heart, and so many others. I intend to further that legacy by using his death to reach out and help others. To make people aware that there really is a crisis, not only in my home state of North Carolina, but across the nation. This crisis is wiping out a whole generation of people. Moms, dads, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, friends, and stepdads just like mine. This affects all of us.
