Gameplay
At the start of the game, there will be three piles
Investment/event card deck
Portfolio cards deck
In-game currency deck
There will also be a dice present.
When it comes to a player’s turn, he or she will draw an investment card.
Through the Investment Card, players will pick their actions, their mode of investment, and how much money they will invest, with a limit to how much they can invest for each specific option. Each option will also highlight the risk and potential earnings and losses involved.
To pick an option, the player must use a portfolio card, which he must buy from the pile with 50 dollars.
After he picks the option, he must put the portfolio card back, slipping it into the bottom of the pile.
Based on the option the player picks, and the amount of money the player invested, he or she must place the in-game currency in the money pile to fulfil the investment.
On the back page of the card, there will be two outcomes for each option.
Each option will have several dice numbers assigned to it. The player will roll a dice, and the corresponding dice number will lead to the determined outcome for the option.
Depending on the outcome, the player will win or lose money.
For example, if the player loses 20% of his money, he will draw 80% of his original money from the pile. If the player has a profit of 20%, he will draw 120% of his original money from the pile
For options of higher risk, fewer dice numbers rolled correspond with a positive outcome, with more dice numbers rolling onto an outcome of less profits, no profits, or monetary loss.
Higher-risk options, more often than not, have higher earnings and losses
For options of lower risk, more dice numbers rolled correspond with a positive outcome, with fewer dice numbers rolling onto an outcome of less profits, no profits, or monetary loss.
Lower-risk options, more often than not, have lower earnings and losses
Event cards
Every once in a while, an event card can be drawn from the deck of investment cards. These event cards will affect investment earnings based on a “genre” of the investment card. The genres are as follows
Energy
Food
Medicine
Entertainment (Music, Film, Sports)
Some cards can belong to more than one genre, and thus be affected by more than one card. Some event cards can also affect every single card no matter their genre, based on its universality.
The players will thus accumulate money, building up their wealth through a diverse portfolio of investing in stocks, bonds, and funds, or even doing short-selling or forex currency trading.
The first player to earn $50,000 will win the game.
