I am Marsha McCauley, a Physics, Chemistry, and 7th Grade Science teacher at Alconbury Middle High School in England and the Scenario Mastermind for the High School STEMposium. As the creator of the STEMposium scenario, I develop the evolving challenges that teams will encounter throughout the week and the hints released beforehand that may help students uncover what is coming. I am passionate about creating immersive, real-world STEM experiences that challenge students to collaborate, think critically, solve complex problems, and apply their knowledge in unexpected ways. My driving partner is Avi, who provides moral support but has yet to contribute a viable engineering solution. 

I am Mari Brown and I am a Physical Education teacher, fourth/fifth grade educator at Garmisch Elementary Middle School and Logistics Officer at for the High School STEMposium. In these roles, I inspire students to develop healthy habits, build confidence, and embrace lifelong learning through engaging physical education and meaningful classroom experiences. As a Logistics Officer, I coordinate planning, resources, and operational support to ensure programs and events run efficiently and effectively. I am committed to fostering the academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of students while promoting collaboration, resilience, problem-solving, and a strong sense of community. 

Ms. Sansone hails from Vicenza, where she teaches biology, AP biology, and AP environmental science and has a menagerie of animals, plants, fungi, and microbes that help her students in the learning process. She will be running the biotech workshop at STEMposium and helping students apply technology to understand questions and challenges in life science.

My name is Della Thomas, and I am the 6-12 Science Instructional Specialist for Europe East, located in Stuttgart, Germany. I am passionate about supporting educators, promoting innovative teaching practices, and helping students succeed through engaging science instruction. As a mentor for the Communications Engineers, I am excited to share my experiences, support student growth, and learn alongside this talented group of scientists!

My name is Dr. Michelle Harrington. I am a Biology teacher at Ramstein High School. I have been participating in STEMposium for 11 years now. I am a mom of three beautiful kids and grandma of two beautiful girls. I will be mentoring environmental STEMinar. Looking forward to an amazing week!!!! 

I am Brian Barnes, an AP Chemistry and Computer Science teacher at Wiesbaden HS in Germany. I enjoy working with all things technology and challenging student thinking to help them develop better products.  I will lead the Rapid Prototying Engineering group.

I am Alfredo Rios, a Robotics Engineer and Principles of Engineering teacher at Ramstein HS in Germany. I enjoy designing projects for students to show their imagination and engineering skills. I will be leading the Robotics Engineering Group this year at STEMposium.

I am Dan Wilson, a Math teacher at SHAPE High School in Belgium. I believe that STEM combines together all the skills from science, language arts, math and your Tech/CTE classes.  So I want to thank all your other teachers for helping you fill your tool belt with the skills you will need to save the world. I’ll be the Structural Engineering Lead for this STEMposium, helping students design everything from living quarters to research facilities. I don't have all the answers, but together we will build solutions! 

I’m Matthew Burkman, an AP Physics teacher at Stuttgart High School in Germany. I love turning wild ideas into real problems to solve preferably the kind that involve big numbers, clever teamwork, and just a hint of chaos. At this year’s STEMposium, I’ll be leading students through a challenge that’s equal parts science, creativity, and adventure. If it can be calculated, tested, or nearly blown up, I’m all in. 

I’m your friendly neighborhood journalist! I have a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and an M.A. in Teaching, and I’ve worked in newsrooms and video production studios.

I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with the next generation of journalists and content creators. I expect students to persevere, tell the story, and take pride in their work.

Hello, I am Kevin Trebesh the Secondary Math ISS for Europe East District in Stuttgart, Germany.  I love problem solving and encouraging flexible efficient solutions. My hope is that everyone has a fun and safe time during the STEMposium.

Hello! I’m Nurse Alex Sandoval, the school nurse at Alconbury Elementary. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting students on field trips, JROTC camps, and sports competition travels—keeping everyone healthy, safe, and always ready to enjoy the adventure.

Before joining the DoDEA, I worked as a Med-Surg nurse providing pre- and post-surgery care, and prior to my nursing career, I served as a bilingual teacher in Dallas, Tx. Outside of school, I love traveling, spending quality time with my wife and daughters, and fully embracing my favorite season—Christmas!
