These tools enhance learning and provide accommodations in reading, writing, and math. Use the resources below to request accounts, install extensions, inform parents, review key features, increase skills and plan for implementation.
Educator Directions: Review the training materials for Read&Write, OrbitNote, EquatIO, and uPAR using the links provided. Each resource includes feature tours, short videos, and step-by-step guides. Start with the feature overviews and introductory videos, then complete the activity guides.
Prior to Learning: Request temporary accounts for Read&Write for Google, OrbitNote, and Equatio by emailing aaron.marsters@dodea.edu. Be sure to include your student.dodea.edu email address, and send your request at least 72 hours before the training. We will provide you with full access to these tools so you can try all the features. Before the uPAR training, log in to uPAR using your student.dodea.edu account. If you receive an error message, email for assistance.
Approximate learning time:
1. Read&Write for Google and OrbitNote: half day (high priority) PD codes can be used for new LI-MM educators
2. uPAR: less than half day, plus student administration time (high priority) PD codes can be used for new LI-MM educators
3. EquatIO: half day (only if math access is a need)
PD codes are linked for LI-MM. Coordinate with your Special Education ISS and Assistive Technology ISS before using the codes. For support, troubleshooting, or training, contact your AT ISS, SPED ISS, or post in the Assistive Technology Teams Exchange.
