Women Who Have Made Great Achievements

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate the courageous women who have helped our Nation build a fairer, more just society.

Throughout history, the vision and achievements of powerful women have strengthened our Nation and opened the doors of opportunity wider for all of us.  Though their stories too often go untold, all of us stand on the shoulders of these sung and unsung trailblazers — from the women who took a stand as suffragists, abolitionists, and labor leaders to pioneering scientists and engineers, groundbreaking artists, proud public servants, and brave members of our Armed Forces.

Celebrating the Life of Martin Luther King Jr.

On January 15, 2024, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will mark the 29th anniversary of the national day of service. This day was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, and to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.  We remember Dr. King as a husband, father, friend, and fierce advocate for the betterment of all people. Honor his memory by organizing, volunteering, and spreading the word. Remember to MAKE IT A DAY ON, NOT A DAY OFF, for you and those around you.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

September 15 - October 15

This year’s theme is:

Todos Somos, Somos Uno; We are All, We are One.

Hispanic Americans have been integral to the prosperity of the U.S. Their contributions to the nation are immeasurable, and they embody the best of American values. The Hispanic-American community has left an indelible mark on the U.S. culture and economy.

Bullying Prevention Awareness Month

October was #BullyingPreventionMonth! In an effort to spread awareness among our Pirate community, Antilles High School's Student Government members talk about bullying and share tips on how to manage this behavior. Bullying is NEVER OK! Help us spread the word. Be part of the solution, NOT part of the problem, and remember to stay strong, PIRATE STRONG!

DoDEA acknowledges -- with profound gratitude and appreciation -- all the brave, selfless heroes that tirelessly defend our freedom and make the great American educational experience possible.

September 17 - Constitution Day!

On September 17, 1787, the Founding Fathers signed the most influential document in American history: the United States Constitution. This document established the framework of our government and the rights and freedoms that "We the People" enjoy today. The Constitution was signed by thirty-nine courageous men who changed the course of history. Every American shares in this legacy of liberty and has the responsibility as a citizen to respect and defend the values of our founding fathers as well as participate in the unfolding story of freedom.
