The DoDEA Prescreening and Acknowledgement for Students form is signed by all parents. This form is an agreement between our BAS parents and BAS to complete temperature check no earlier than two hours before sending your student to school. Please review this form periodically, since it has specific guidance on what to do if your student is symptomatic (Section 1) or identified as Close Contact/Potential Exposure (Section 2).
Attendance at BAS - Students can stay home up to three days at the discretion of their parent and please notify BAS. On the fourth day, we need a doctor's note as to why your student remains unable to attend school. Please inform BAS Attendance at BrusselsEHSAttendance@dodea.edu when your student will not be in school. It is a courtesy to also email your teacher(s) to let them know too. All BAS student have access to their google classrooms. Students must view their google classroom when they are absent or communicate with their teacher direct, if they are not able too.
Once you or your student has been identified as either a positive COVID case or a close contact to a positive case, contact tracing will need to be completed. This process is done by Preventative Medicine (PM) assigned at SHAPE. They will call you and confirm your status. PM is the one who decides the length of your quarantine, if and when you will be tested for COVID, and when you will be released from quarantine. Please make sure all your contact information with BAS is accurate, as these are the numbers and emails used by PM for their contact tracing.
Please contact Preventative Medicine at SHAPE and inform them of the COVID+ status.
Here are Preventative Medicine’s emails, phone numbers and the number to the COVID hotline, which is staffed by Preventative Medicine.

Beginning Monday, March 7, 2022, mask-wearing will not be required at Brussels American School. The guidance in the attachments outline the updated mask-wearing policy, continued screening and testing, and COVID-19 level conditions which would cause mask wearing requirements to return to our school community. We ask that all students have a mask available in their backpacks as conditions can change rapidly. We anticipate additional updates to other COVID-19 mitigation strategies in the near future. We will update you on any additional changes as they are received.
