Part of the Big Picture program is to complete Advisory Immersion Projects (AIP) which is how the school delivers the NSW curriculum at CCSC by creating more engaging and Cross-curricular activities and tasks to provide lessons that don't just focus on one subject at a time, like History or English, but rather we combine subjects and connect them together provide a holistic approach to learning; which is more reflective of the connected world. The topics covered during our time have been WW1 & 2, Indigenous Rights and Freedoms, Holocaust (HISE), Media and Discrimination, Playing the Game (SLR, English), Sustainable Biomes, Living world (Science) Environmental Change and Management (Geo) & PDHPE.
We also integrate Big Picture Commitments (BPC) to support the NSW curriculum. BPC involves our approach to mathematics, which is delivered through the Math Pathways platform. Additionally, we incorporate journals to enhance our writing, literacy skills, and creativity. These journals offer students an opportunity to explore niche interests like art, digital media, creative writing, and reflective writing. Lastly, as part of our reading requirements, each student is expected to read one book per term and submit a comprehensive book review.
