Over the past two years, I've been a part of the Colour Run organisation team, helping establish it as an annual school community event. This year, I stepped into a leadership role alongside Euan McFolland, as we are year 12 students and have experience from the previous year within our team of year 9 students... who provided valuable contributions. Together, we've held regular meetings, organized a successful pancake fundraising day to raise initial funds, reached out to the community for contributions including silent auction donations and volunteers for activities like face painting, Whilst doing so we were able to improve and develop diverse skills involved with event management like communication and problem-solving.
Our Color Run, set for October 27th during Mental Health Month with the theme this year being "We All Have a Role to Play," serves as a fantastic platform to unite students, families, and the community in supporting mental health initiatives. All funds raised on the day will benefit EquiEnergy Youth, I've strongly enjoyed being part of this team and our contribution to creating an enjoyable day for a worthwhile cause.
Information regarding project processes and organisation can be found in the documents below, which cover details related to fundraising days, budgets, equipment, delegation, and more.
