Due to some difficulties with obtaining samples for my proposed project, my mentor and I switched gears to a similar project on the origins of Palearctic-African painted lady butterflies collected in Cameroon. We aimed to discover the origins of the butterflies and characterize their movements. For this project, I wrote a paper and created a poster to present at my school's science symposium and two competitions in the spring.
In February of 2025, I was invited to compete as one of 72 finalists in the 2025 Upstate New York Regional JSHS competition. The competition selected students from all areas of New York outside of Long Island and New York City. I created a presentation to showcase my work as an oral presenter.
