Aloha ‘Aina [love the land] is the message of the Akahiano Institute, whose home is Huehue Ranch. Before any services begins, you are brought on a tour around the land to understand its significance and importance. Silence to understand the land and know that it is a gift.
What Service?
Our group's service project consisted of working on a section of the ground's sustainable garden. It branches together the native species of Hawaii as well as the more modern introduced species. We studied the bio-diversity and understood where to plant on the organic climate for maximum water intake. Being mindful of Hawaii's water shortage.
