Hi! My name is Arjun Chavan and I a student at Andover High School in the graduating class of 2024. I will be attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I will be majoring in computer science. I am very passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and current global issues. To help bridge these massive topics, I turned to the Global Pathways Program.
The Andover High School Global Pathways Program is a series of experiences for students and faculty to thrive as global citizen-scholars, in our complex, dynamic, and diverse global society. Students are guided by faculty advisors as they travel their global path through world language study, immersive travel, service learning, a Global Research Project, global course work and other experiences that lead toward the Endorsement for Global Engagement.
The Global Pathways Scholars Program provides students with a multifaceted approach to analyze societal issues surrounding the 17 United Nations Sustainable Goals. By combining language study, immersive experiences, service, Capstone research, and challenging coursework, Global Pathways allows students to thrive as global student scholars.
As a member of this program, I have spent the majority of my time exploring the fourth UN Sustainable Goal, quality education. My goal through my four years of high school has been to inspire students in Andover, and surrounding towns, to explore science, technology, engineering, and math. As a member of the Aim2Learn Club at Andover High School, I helped prepare elementary and middle school students for school by tutoring them in math and English. Furthermore, starting in the summer of 2022, I started visiting low-income towns like Lawrence, where I ran fun experiments to help expose them to the intricacies of STEM.
