Create a promotional video that introduces the team, persuades students and mentors to join, and gathers support for the robotics team. The video has to be up to 90 seconds long and up to 15 seconds of credits that include the entrant's name, VRC team number, and name of video (up to 105 seconds total). The video must be posted on YouTube.
VEX Photography Online Challenge (Sep. 17, 2018 - Jan. 15, 2019). This is an individual contest, so each person can submit one photo. The photo must be in JPEG (.jpg) format, and up to 20MB in size. The picture must be 1000 or more pixels or wide for a landscape orientation photo, and 1000 or more pixels vertically for a portrait style photo. The entry should be label with the title as the file name, and the title should relate with why you chose that photo to submit. A short summary of 100 words or less is optional, but it should explain what is seen in the photo and your purpose.
VEX IQ Girl Powered Online Challenge Sponsored by Google (Sep. 17, 2018 - Jan. 15, 2019). This challenge is to write an interesting, thought-provoking story about how the Girl Powered concept has connected to your experience doing VEX IQ Robotics and competing. Show how having a diverse group of students as a team has helped you succeed and how your team tries to create an environment that is attractive to many different people. Also share who your role model is STEM is and explain why, and add if this role model has a diverse team or organization, also explaining how this is so.
Make It Real CAD Engineering Challenge Sponsored by Autodesk (Oct. 15, 2018 - Jan 15, 2019). Use the Autodesk 3D software to create a model of a new part that can be used in robotics that would come in helpful but is not included in the given kit. It must be created using Autodesk Fusion 360, Inventor, and/or Tinkercad, and the challenge entry must also include a bried explanation of maximum 1000 words that explains the process and your part. Also have a picture of your model, and provide your CAD dataset when you post your entry.
