My scholastic journalism experience started as an acne-ridden, hoodie wearing, shy 12 year old starting at my middle school newspaper. Timid, awkward, and clueless, I had no clue what journalism would mean in my life just a few short years later. As a student journalism, my eyes have opened to the vastness of the world, and how key we are in the grand sphere of life. With the help of mentors like Brooke Yang, Ashwin Kishor, and Maheer Chowdhury, I was able to make a name for myself on The Muse. In the multimedia section I have worked on our publication's podcast, making sure I can upload on a consistent and timely basis. Now, in the second semester, I've upped my intake of video projects and editing. This has allowed me to diversity of multimedia journalism skills, and hopefully I can use them in the future. Journalism has helped me become a social person, allowing me to connect with peers and authority alike. In the future, I hope that it can allow me to flourish both as a working American and as a genuine person.
