If you don't know, Adobe Illustrator is a professional graphic design software that's used to create vector artwork. You can make just about anything you want with it, such as logos, icons, illustrations, and more!
Anywho, to start off with vector graphics, I first drew some lines using the line segment tool, I had to line them up with the corners of the screen to make them aligned perfectly.
Then I used the Ellipse Tool to make all the circles, I had to put each of the circles on different layers so they would be layered on top on of eachother, and not all combined together on the same layer. I then used the Gradient Tool (home is with the bucket tool) on each of the circles and increased the gradient's size to add the black gradient that gives the circles depth.
I used the circles that were made earlier as a base to create our emojis. We deleted the lines and the other three circles, and then changed the color of the red circle to yellow.
I used many tools to create all the shapes and expressions for the emoji. Like the line segment tool, maniplated to give shape for the mouth and eyebrows. This emoji is deeply in love.
Root Word Monsters
After we made our emojis, we made these root word monsters on paper in our ELAR class. Our ELAR teacher took pictures of our monsters and we used them as a reference for our vector graphics.
This is my finished monster design! I am very proud of it, though, I feel like I maybe could've added a little more details to make it even better. There were some parts of the monster that were very, very tedious to make, like the ripped off arm, it was quite difficult to make, and I'm not even sure why. I had a good time making the body though, i think it looks cool.
Here's some fun facts about 'em! he utilizes the eyes on his shoulder for enhanced eyesight and seeking down victims. He uses his dark parts of his body to camouflage in the dark. He was a beloved performer at a circus, up until the accident happened and he turned into.. this. Cool!
I put a lot of effort into creating this monster, and even though I encountered a lot of roadblocks on the way, I still had lots of fun making him, and we even animated them after!.
I haven't come up with a name for him yet, so if you could please put some recommendations in this form that would be great and much appreciated!
This is my finished GIF and animation! I would've added a lot more to this, but I simply didn't have enough time đŸ˜”. I still think it looks pretty good though! In order to make it loop perfectly, you had to simply copy the first keyframes of the video, then paste them to where they are also the last. "Keyframes" are basically the frames that you set for your animation.
