ππΊWELCOME TO 3D MODELING!πΊπ
We started our 3D Modeling Unit in January of 2024 with opening SketchUp for Schools for the very first time! We experimented with the program by writing our name and stacking blocks. This eventually turned into an assignment and this was the PNG we put in (NEVER USE SNIP!) I was pretty happy with the way mine came out, considering the fact that this was my first week using SketchUp. I hope you like the PNG! π
This is my house BEFORE it was painted. It took me a little while because I had some trouble with the windows (like most people did), but I personally thought making my house was pretty fun! π
This part was so much fun! It was also really easy because I made my windows into components. This means that if I painted one past of one window, the same part would appear painted on the others!
In order to download your house from SketchUp into Blender, you need to download a special kind of file called a Collada File. It does take a little for the computer to get the Collada file ready for you, but once you get it, you'll be able to get your house into Blender! Blender makes your house look much more realistic and 3D. You can also animate what you put into Blender by using keyframes!!
This is my simple house in BLENDER! I downloaded it as a Collada file then was able to start a new file on the program. Blender made my house look much more realistic and 3D when compared to Sketchup!
This is it! My animation! This took me such a long time to make because I had trouble putting the Collada file into Blender, but I eventually got it in there and got to animate it! It started off as a 3 second video, but we turned into 10 seconds! I hope you like it!! π

This is my very first modern art sculpture! This took me about a week to make and color in and I had a lot of fun with it. I used red, dark blue, and purple. During this point in time, the Offset key was my best friend π! I first made a polygon, then lifted it about 3 feet off the ground, drew random lines everywhere, lifted the space between those lines, then offset the shaped I made, I tried to make the middle piece the tallest, and I think I did a good job with that, but I could have done better! I then -like the simple house- imported it as a COllada file and put it into Blender!Β Β Β Β
This is what the Modern Art looked like once it was in Blender! I increased the light to make it look more realistic and kind of show off the colors and detail.Β
This is my animation! It didn't take me too long but the part that was kind of tricky was getting the camera to go above the model. I also keyframed the light and its position a bit (That part was pretty fun)!Β This was a fun project and I really hope you enjoy my video! π
