Sound Design - Pads
Inner City Life - Goldie
The pads in the song start right at the begining, they create a ambient atmoshphere and set the tone throughout the song. For the first minuet of the song there is only pad sounds and vocals this creates a long suspenful build up to when the drums come in. The pads in the track are one of the most important sounds creating and keeping the same ambient sound throughout the song
Clubbed to death - Rob Dougan
The pads in this track start 25 seconds in. they create a suspenesfull build up throuout the song. In the pads chord sequence each sound goes a note higher thats what creates such a suspenful atmospher and making the song sound like theres something building up.
This video breaks down which sounds where used in the track and how the sounds where sampled/made and how there used in the suspenful atmosphere of this track
My Sound Pads
i created three different pad sounds. the way i did this was first choose a synth or keyboard sound and using vital i could edit the attack, delay, decay and release. also adding things like compression or echo can really change the sound. these pad sounds would be good in the background of a track to create a ambient atmosphere.
Parallel Processing
parallel processing is when you duplicate a audio signal. you create a new bus signal and then send the sounds you want to mix to it. You can add any effects to the new bus signal for example compression or distortion. The benefit of using parallel processing is you can still keep all the dynamic range of the of the sound whilst also adding effects.

Reproduce A Track
For this task we got into groups to reproduce a famous song ourselves. We chose to reproduce Praise You by Fatboy Slim, this song is mainly made from samples from different songs. We researched and found the original songs and also the equipment Fatboy slim used. we added the songs that where sampled to logic to edit them and put it all in the correct order to produce the track. Unfortunately we were unable to complete this tasks because of people not being in to work on it and a lot of unorganization, but we still managed to find research for this tasks and the samples so we are going to try finish it in the future but in a smaller group.
