Support Our Troops

Support our troops is an organization that distributes letters, cards, and other support to veterans from the American public. It is important to write to veterans because it helps strengthen the morale of soldiers and their families. Furthermore, it is important to thank these men and women for their service to our country, their bravery to fight for its defense, and their hard work at protecting our freedom and way of life.

I contributed by designing and making 20 cards that I will be mailing out to the Support Our Troops Organization. I wrote positive and encouraging messages expressing my gratitude to the troops.

Pico Rivera Women´s Conference

I attended the Pico Rivera´s Women´s Conference and earned 6 hours of community service. While there I participated in seminars on self-defense, etiquette, finances, and healthy living.There was also a mentor luncheon where female role-models working in various fields talked with us.

Amigos de Los Rios

Amigos de Los Rios is greening LA by creating the Emerald Necklace of parks and natural infrastructure in the Los Angeles Basin. Its mission is to connect our mountains to the sea, offer equitable access to nature, and protect our environment and urban communities from the threats of climate change.

I volunteered with them to help clean up and fix up a park. We weeded, pruned, trimmed, and planted plants native to California to replace the old ones. It was a fun experience and I look forward to visiting the park again and seeing the fruit of our labor.

Easter Eggstravaganza

I volunteered at the Pico Rivera Easter Eggstravaganza event. I worked a game booth at the event. Along with a partner we manned the booth and gave out and received tickets.
