If you decide to do community service let me tell you it is an amazing feeling doing something positive for your community. In my experience of community service I did many things such as cooking, babysitting, cleaning, & being an asset at a party.
The sancutary where I chose to do my community service has classes for domestic violence cases, drug abuse, and anger managment. This a societal problem due to the fact that it evolves around us daily. It happens so often that some may normalize it or carry it out as a normal way to treat someone else. Altough, in other situations some may play in the part of introducing drugs to citizens leading to drug abuse later once addiction takes over their will.

A community service activity that was really enjoyable was the Alamitos Beach cleanup. For this task we got trash bags from the host and preceded to pick up trash from the beach. Another aspect that I enjoyed about this was the part where it was at the beach with breezy winds along with the smell of the ocean was plesant. I collected about 1.6 pounds of trash at the event.
Toxic waste on beaches can be a hazordous environment for sea creatures along with the seagulls soaring in the air. The seagulls may mistaken a piece of trash for food and that consequently may lead to the seagull suffocating then advancing to the leading cause of death. This community service was a positive act for the environment by cleaning the beach which may also benefit the aspects of a healthy ecosystem by the shore of Alamitos Beach.

In the Tree Lighting ceremony I assisted in many activities such as watching over a line by the display of Santa's sled. I also helped organize the arts and crafts boutique. At the arts and craft boutique I enjoyed watching the kids enjoy themselves by making letters to Santa and dropping it off in the mailbox for them. Then once it got to the finale of the event I offered myself to help in putting items away such as the fence for the snow area along with the chairs that were displayed by the Christmas tree.
Volunteering for a city event was crucial for the city in the following way that many wanted to help but didn´t get to help due to the capacity filled. This is good evidence due to the fact that many think the city is in need as in the cleaning after an event. For example, in other prior events before this one they had voulunteers but did not exceed the following criteria´s of maintaining the place clean and sanitary which even led me to getting sick. Others might get sick if volunteers do not do their task correctly.

Homelesness is a global issue because it ultimately can be the gateway to an unsafe enviornment for the idvidual and the people surrounding the individual. Homelessness is dangerouus for the individual because they are not being sanitary and are more succeptible to illness and disease. This can also ultimately put the public in danger if a homeless person living on the streets has a contagious diesease. Homelessness in an area also increases the chances of people enganging in risky behavior making the area unsafe.
Our Avid class went to Skid Row and gave away goodie bags to the ones who are in need. However, I wanted able to go to the actual eventl. But, I participated in the AVID giveback to skid row by donating items that is worth 1 hour of community service according to our AVID teacher Mr. Jimenez . Such as giving cases of water, deotorant sticks, and femine pads.
