Members of BPA compete in a wide assortment of events on the Regional, State, and National levels. These competitive events consist of everything business related, from marketing and management to banking and finance. Some events are open events, meaning any member at the conference is able to take the test, while other events require the member to sign up in advance. A full list of competitive events can be found at BPA's national website: http://www.bpa.org/compete/eventlist.
If a member is lucky enough to place at the Regional competition, they are then able to compete at the State competition. Previously, State competition has been held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. If a member then places at State competition, they then qualify to travel to National Competition and compete against BPA members from all around the nation. In the past, National competition has been held at Anahiem, CA, Orlando, FL, Dallas, TX, and many more.
In the more recent past, members of our chapter have been able to compete at these National competitions. In 2019, students traveled to Anaheim, California. Milo DeMoines placed 1st in Computer Literacy in the Middle Level Division. Emma Govitz placed 6th in Keyboarding in the Middle Level Division. In 2018, Parker Hayes traveled to Dallas, Texas, where he placed 6th in Payroll Accounting and 8th in Advanced Accounting.
