In Discovery Lab this term, we will be examining our central idea that 'Events in the past impact the present'. Students will be looking at a series of pivotal moments in history to understand the context, the options that were available to those present and how those actions have influenced events to this day.
This term we will be working through developing digital technology skills by improving their typing accuracy, and basic skills such as copy + paste, inserting links and screenshotting. They will be introduced to basic spreadsheet skills using Excel, including creating graphs, entering data, and organising information into rows and columns.
Students this term will have learning sessions with Matua Tainui and the teachers, singing waiaia, learning simple sentences in Te Reo and writing their own Pepeha.
Alongside this, they will learn about the importance of whakapapa and learn how events in the past impact the present, tying in with our History learning in Discovery Lab.
