This term we will be focusing on:
Weeks 1-2: Biography Writing:
Students will be working on confidently using the language features of this text type and putting these to use as part of our Olympics Study.
Weeks 3-10: Persuasive Writing:
Students will be developing their skills of piecing together a compelling argument in preparation for their speeches.
Students will also be working on creating an entertaining speech using persuasive and informative writing to discuss the topic of Unity.

All students will have a range of progressions based on their individual needs, which will include some of the following:
Y5 - Writing:
Use computer and print tools to help proof-read for accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Include details to support ideas.
Group similar ideas into paragraphs most of the time.
Y6 - Writing
Independently revise and edit writing to clarify meaning and add impact.
Carefully select relevant details to support ideas.
Use linking words and phrases to link paragraphs some of the time.
