Maths progressions will differ from student to student but may include the following:
Multiplication and Division (Weeks 1-7)
Year 5 Mult/Div
STRATEGIES: Use known multiplication and division facts (up to 10x).
STRATEGIES: Solve division from known multiplication facts (up to 10x).
STRATEGIES: Use place value partitioning (2-digits) and known facts.
STRATEGIES: Solve division problems which have remainders.
KNOWLEDGE: Instantly recall the multiplication and division facts for x3, x4 and x6.
Year 6 Mult/Div
STRATEGIES: Use all multiplication and division facts to 10 x 10.
STRATEGIES: Use doubling and halving (2-digit x 1-digit).
STRATEGIES: Use trebling and thirding (2-digit x 1-digit).
STRATEGIES: Use place value partitioning (2-digit x 1-digit).
STRATEGIES: Use rounding and compensating (2-digit x 1-digit).
KNOWLEDGE: Instantly recall the multiplication and division facts for x7, x8 and x9.
KNOWLEDGE: Identify and understand 'factors'.

Recognise parallel and perpendicular lines.
Understand (cardinal and ordinal) compass direction words.
Year 6 Position and Orientation
Use compass (cardinal and ordinal) direction words to say where things are on a map.
Transformation (Weeks 8-10)
Year 5 Transformation
Draw and describe more complex designs that have been moved with reflection, translation or rotation.
Find all the lines of symmetry on 2D shapes.
Year 6 Transformation
Find or draw a shape with a scale of enlargement.
Tessellate (repeat) a pattern of shapes without leaving gaps.
