Writing Progressions Term 3
Structure and Language: Use the text structure and language that meets the purpose for writing
Spelling: Use knowledge of spelling patterns, prefixes, suffixes and root words to spell unfamiliar words.
Organisation: Group similar ideas into paragraphs most of the time.
Week 1-5: Students will plan and write their own speeches using the correct text structure. Students will practice their speeches at home and at school, before participating in the class speech presentations in weeks 4 and 5.
Week 6-9: Students will be learning the features of a narrative and work on building their vocabulary so they can write their own narrative story. They will then publish their story either digitally or by hand.
